Bozouls (1h du camping)
Comme vous avez pu le lire précédemment, un deuxième article sur le site de Bozouls était prévu. Depuis notre dernière publication, j'ai eu l'occasion de retourner sur place mardi 13 août accompagnée de membres de ma famille. Malheureusement, nous avons raté la visite guidée du canyon et de l'église (départ 10h). Nous pouvons prendre le petit train (trajet de 45 min à 1h) qui fait 6 visites par jour, sachant que son ticket offre une réduction pour la visite à Terra Memoria. Cependant, nous décidons de faire la découverte seuls en suivant le balisage d'une des 3 promenades. Sans guide, nous avons tout de même des repères comme les panneaux explicatifs sur la Flore qui se trouvent le long du sentier. En descendant nous prenons conscience de la vraie profondeur du trou. La balade est agréable, souvent ombragée et facile. Selon les légendes locales, les habitants d'un village voisin auraient fait un pacte avec le diable. Ce dernier se cache un peu partout dans le paysage: en commençant par le trou lui-même, l'église qu'il aurait voulu faire tomber et qui porte le nom Saint Faust (cf. Personnage de Goethe qui a fait un pacte avec le diable) ainsi que la cascade du Gourg d'Enfer. Après notre ballade, nous avons la chance de nous installer à une table en haut du canyon avec vue spectaculaire. Le restaurant n'a visiblement pas suffisamment de serveurs, mais le temps passe vite quand on peut contempler la vue.
Suite à mon expérience précédente, je conseille à tous ceux qui ont fait le déplacement d'enchainer l'après-midi avec une visite à Terra Memoria. De notre côté, un panneau direction Rodelle éveille notre curiosité. Nous y allons pour trouver un tout petit village sur les rochers et des toilettes publiques extrêmement propres! Voilà toute la beauté que la commune de Bozouls vous réserve. C'est certainement un site que je conseillerai à chacun d'entre vous sur le camping.
As you have been able to read recently, a second article about the Bozouls site was planned. Since our last publication I have had the chance to return to the site, on Tuesday 13th August, accompagnied by some family members. Unfortunately we missed the guided visit of the canyon and church (departing at 10 am). We could have taken the little train (a minimum journey duration of 45 mins to an hour) which does 6 visits each day, knowing that the ticket would give us a reduction for the Terra Memoria visit. However, we decided to do a tour on our own by following the sign posting for one of the three walks. There isn't a guide, but there are nonetheless guiding posts along the route such as information signs about the Flaura that can be found along the route. As we go down we become aware of the real depth of the hole. The walk is lovely, often shaded, and easy. According to local legends, the inhabitants of the neighbouring village made a pact with the devil. This story is hidden a little all over the scenery: starting with the hole itself, the church which the devil wanted to make fall down and which bears the name Saint Faust (Goethe character who made a pact with the devil) as well as the Gourg d'Enfer (Hell's Gorge) waterfall. After our walk, we have the chance to sit down at a table on top of the canyon with a spectacular view. The restaurant doesn't seem to have enough waiters, but the time passes quickly when you have such a beautiful view to look at.
Following my previous experience, I advise all those who make the journey to continue their afternoon with a visit to Terra Memoria. However for us, a road sign for Rodelle sparked our curiosity. We followed and found a tiny village built amongst the rocks and some extremely clean public toilets. And there you have it, all the beauty that the Bozouls area has to offer you. This is a definite must see for all of you on our campsite!
Op dinsdag 13 augustus ga ik met mijn mama en haar broer naar Bozouls. Dat is een dorp met een groot gat. We zouden graag meegaan met de rondleiding om 10u maar we komen te laat aan. Bij het toerismebureau zeggen ze dat we ook het treintje kunnen nemen (45 min) die 6 keer per dag vertrekt, maar we kiezen er voor om alleen en te voet op ontdekking te gaan. We starten de afdaling en zien al gauw een aanduiding voor een wandeling die we dan ook volgen.
Volgens de lokale legende, heeft een naburig dorp een pact gesloten met de duivel. Die vinden we dan ook overal in het landschap terug: te beginnen met het gat zelf die hij zou gedelft hebben om de kerk met de passende naam Saint Faust ineen te laten storten (cf. Faust is een personage van Goethe die een pact sloot met de duivel) en de waterval van de Gourg hel. Na onze wandeling staan we opnieuw aan het vertrekpunt, bovenaan het gat. We zien een tafeltje vrij op een terras aan de rand van de canyon met een prachtig uitzicht. Gelukkig want het restaurant heeft maar één kelner voor een groot terras en we moeten dus even wachten.
Ik ben hier al eerder geweest en raad daarom iedereen aan om daarna een bezoekje te brengen aan Terra Memoria. Het helpt om meer te weten te komen over het ontstaan van het gat. Wij hebben echter een bordje gezien richting Rodelle, wat de moeite waard zou zijn. En inderdaad, het dorpje is gebouwd tegen de rotsen en heeft de properste publieke toiletten die ik ooit heb gezien. De gemeente van Bozouls is dus zeker een plek die ik aan elk van jullie aanraad.
