"La Tour de Peyrebrune"

C'était le mois de septembre cette année, et la météo était favorable à une promenade. Nous sommes partis après le repas de midi. Avec ses 8,5 km de boucle, pas besoin de prévoir une journée. En juillet et août il est possible de marier promenade avec visite, car la Tour est ouverte au public. Pour nous, c'était septembre, la Tour était fermé et en phase de rénovation extérieure. Cependant, nous n'avons pas été déçus grâce à la vue exceptionnelle et les tables d'orientation. De plus, à La maison de site de Peyrebrune se trouvant à côté de la Tour nous avons pu visionner une vidéo sur l'histoire de la Tour. La maison est aussi un espace d'accueil, d'information touristiques et d'exposition. Le nombreux tables de pique-niques, l'air de jeux et le manège chevaux nous ont fait signe du potentiel du site en période estivale. Seul bémol, balisage par moment difficile à repérer. Il faut beaucoup se concentrer sur le plan.

"Peyrebrune tower"

In September this year the weather was perfect for yet another Lévézou walk. We left in the afternoon after a sumptuous lunch. The walk is only a 8,5 km loop and therefore does not take all day. Or maybe it does, if you're planning on going in July and August.

During the Summer months, the Peyrebrune tower opens to the public. However, even in September it is worthwile. We saw the tour being renovated for future visits and were still able to enjoy the panoramic view and at the same time know what we're seeing thanks to the orientation tables.

Fortunately, the "Maison de site de Peyrebrune", which is a stone house located at the bottom of the Peyrbrune site, was open that day and we got to see a video on the local history (in French!). This Peyrebrune Maison also gives tourist information, sells local products and exhibits work of local artists.

The number of picknicktables at the site, as well as the children's playground and the manège are proof of the potential of this site during the Summer season.

The only down side about the walk, is that we found it sometimes hard to follow the yellow signs. It is a good idea to follow closely on the map.
